I've found that my little corner of the Mid-West makes for very prolific treasure hunting. The closer you are to large urban communities like, say Nashville, home of some of my junk-jealous family, the slimmer the pickings. Maybe its that they value their junk more, maybe they have hoarder tendencies, maybe they are better than the rest of us and donate it all to charity. Whatever the reason, I am happy as a lark that I live in a literal gold-mine of yard sale opportunities!
Here are some of my recent finds, classic Ball Jars. Due to a huge surge in popularity over the last vintage-obsessed years, these beauties are becoming harder to find and even more scarce to have a low price tag. Fortunately, I am not one to waver in my penny-pinching ways and can patiently wait until the right price beckons. I scored these for $1 each, practically unheard of lately. Aren't they pretty!? Can't beat that blue hue. Not sure if I'll use them for a lighting project I've been toying with or just leave them as is. Nonetheless, they definitely need a good scrub to make them shine.
Are you a doubter? Afraid to see the sparkle beneath the grime? I'll do my best to show you the light and dazzle you with other amazing treasures I've acquired over the last three years. I'll even let you in on the shockingly low prices I nabbed them at. I bet by next Spring, you too, will be itching to trade your Saturday morning sleep for hunting junk gold.
