A Junk Set Table - Spooky Sophistication

For the second addition of my weekly series, A Junk Set Table, I want to give you a look at my own Halloween dining table set with yard-sale treasures and cheap dollar store finds. Add in a few nice items and the entire look is elevated to spooky sophistication. This year, I wanted to go with a look fit for the ever-sinister Edgar Allan Poe, complete with ravens and quotes from his most spooky poem.

This Junk Set Table was brought together with several junk items and dollar store accessories. All together, this entire look was done for less than $80. I already owned the frames, candelabras, goblets, plates and candle stands. The only things I bought new were the pumpkins, skeletons, persimmon fabric, spider-web overlays and the ravens.

Here is the break-down:
$2 - 2 gilded frames found at a church rummage sale and painted gold
$24 - 2 iron candelabras bought online from Amazon.com
$12 - 3 white Funkins bought at Target
$3 - 3 candle stands we spray painted black found at yard sales
$2 - 6 white porcelein plates found these at a local yard sale
$2 - 6 skeletons bought in the Halloween section at Dollar Tree
$6 - cut-glass vintage goblets bought at Dollar Tree
$5 - 5 faux ravens bought at Dollar Tree in the Halloween section
$6 - 2 spider-web sheer overlay bought at after-Halloween clearance sale at JoAnn's
$15 - 2 yards of persimmon silk fabric bought from JoAnn's
TOTAL: $77

To complete the look, I typed and printed off a section of Poe's most famous poem, "The Raven", on card stock to rest in the gold frames. Setting the candelabras on the frames give them a new look and add interest to the table setting.

By mixing high-end looking items with cheap dollar store accessories, you too, can achieve a spooky sophisticated look .
